Amy Yu and Dr.Kolls

Amy Yu

Amy Yu is a Louisiana native and a junior at Tulane University, where she is majoring is Cell and Molecular Biology as well as Art History. Amy worked in Dr. Jay Kolls' laboratory (Chariman, Department of Genetics and member of the Center Steering Committee) during the summer of 2010 and has remained in his lab, continuing her research project throughout the year. Amy's project involved the study of a novel vaccine platform to treat and combat Pneumocystis carinni pneumonia (PCP), a pathogen that causes a severe problem to those with HIV infection or immunocompromised states. This project is part of the process of generation of preliminary data for vaccine development in MiniVax, Inc.
